Your outside corset measurement is little evidence of you actual reduction! This one, because of intense amount of boning, lining, and being made of leather, it’s actually pretty thick. This can give inaccurate measurements if you’re tracking progress.
My black leather waspie adds about 1 inch to the real measurement. That’s to say, under my corset my waist is actually 1 inch smaller than my outside measurement says. So, my morning measurement is 23 3/16. Take an inch off and that means under my corset, I’m really roughly 22 inches.
Robot Raygun, how the fuck do I find out what my corset adds!?
Well, my little cupcake, it’s simple! Find something sturdy you can fully close your corset around; dressmaker dummy, pillar, whatever you can close it around that doesn’t squish.
Now, get your hand tape measure out and put it around that item. Close your corset around that, pulling the ends of the tape measure thorugh the back. Lace up closed and check the measurement. This will give accuracy and make up for crap like stretching every corset does after seasoning.
Next, pull the tape measure out and measure the outside. Is the number different? Great, make some math happen and that’s how much your corset adds to the actual measurement. Enjoy your reductions with absolute accuracy! Numbers the same? Awesome. Your corset isn’t bulky. Wear it in the summer, that shit is a bless!
There ya go. I’ll post my smaller evening measurement later on today. As always shoot me a message or an ask. I’m here for you.
